ARBORETUM residents are smelling the stench of raw sewage in their nostrils daily as the poor state of the city’s waste water treatment infrastructure worsens. So bad has the situation deteriorated that the odour is now being captured as gas on the Richards Bay Clean Air Association’s (RBCAA) data monitoring network.
The source of the problem is not difficult to detect: the blame lies at the shocking state of the pump station located near the old Bundu Nursery, which borders Arboretum and Lake Mzingazi.
